The California State Legislature has passed AB 1064 (Bauer-Kahan), which includes serious unintended consequences that will impact the future of AI development.

The American Innovators Network (AIN) issued the following statement from Executive Director Vanessa Day regarding its passage:

“We urge Governor Newsom to veto AB 1064. While well-intentioned, its overly broad provisions would create serious unintended consequences. California needs smart policy that truly protects young people, prepares them for the future of AI, and supports the state’s startup culture.”
