WASHINGTON – American Innovators Network Executive Director Vanessa Day issued the following statement today following New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s signing the RAISE Act:
“As startups and advocates for the Little Tech community, we want to see a competitive AI ecosystem where entrepreneurs can build with clarity and where people feel confident and safe using AI tools. We ultimately share the intent of the RAISE Act to enhance AI transparency and appreciate Governor Hochul’s amendments that recognize the unique needs of Little Tech, but we remain concerned RAISE now adds to a growing patchwork of state-by-state AI regulations for small developers to navigate.”
“New York has an important role to play in AI, specifically in enforcing laws that protect New Yorkers from harmful uses of AI. A clear and consistent federal framework is absolutely essential for maintaining a competitive AI market, keeping the U.S. ahead globally, and giving consumers better, safer products. We remain committed to constructive dialogue on AI legislation to foster a balanced framework that respects innovation and consumer protection.”
